Applications for the 2026 Fall and Winter Retreat at Eagle Plains is now open.

Applications are accepted until midnight Saturday, May 9, 2026

Please read through the INFO page for information about eligibility, amenities, and expectations.

1. Dates for Retreat

   Please share which retreat date(s) would be your preference if you were the successful candidate. Changes at a later date are permitted if needed.

   Open early September - December 01st, 2026. There are no summer retreat options.

2. Biographical Description, or CV

   Please tell us about yourself and/or your collaborative team in a biographical description or CV.

   Accepted file formats: pdf, doc, docx

3. Letter of Intention

   Please tell us a little about your overall art practice and highlight the work you are currently engaged in. If you have a specific project or idea you wish to undertake at the Arctic Circle Retreat please share a little on that project.

   Please tell us why this particular Retreat interests you and what do you hope it will do for you or your work?

4. Work Samples

   Submit images, text, links, or a combination that best supports and showcases your work and ideas.

   Please label all files in the numerical order you would like them to be reviewed (01_FileName_YourName.pdf).

   Please do not embed images or video into your email message. Attachments or links only.

   Image-based work samples: 

   • Up to 10 jpeg images - no larger than 500kb per image

   • Include a corresponding list with image number, title, medium, date of work, and dimensions

   • Accepted file formats: pdf, doc, docx, jpg, jpeg

   Text-based work samples:

   • Up to 10 pages of writing samples

   • Accepted file formats: pdf, doc, docx 

   Time-based work samples (video, film, sound, music, performance, etc):

   • Up to 5 samples. No longer than 5 minutes each.

   • All time-based work samples must be linked to Youtube, Vimeo, or Soundcloud and links pasted into appropriate fields on the application form. Please do not email videos.

   • Upload a corresponding list with title, medium, duration, and date of work.

   • Please include passwords if applicable

   • Accepted files: pdf, doc, docx
